What’s happening in Ukraine is terrifying and heartbreaking. I can’t help but see parallels to world history, and to Jewish history, and Zelensky is emerging as a Jewish hero.
Often in Judaism, the heroes are unexpected leaders, and they're underdogs. Learning about Zelensky's background was interesting, and I saw so many similarities to the story of Hanukkah.
