November events for Jewish young professionals in NYC

Updated: Nov 17

Thanksgiving isn't the only event in November. There's a lot going on this month, especially for Jews! Check our list of events all over New York City from Shabbat dinners to film festivals to comedy shows. Most are for Jews in their 20s and 30s, but some are for all ages. If you go, leave a comment about how it was. (And if you're already thinking about December, we're got started on our December post here)

November 3-13 | JCC Other Israel Film Festival

Times vary

In-person & virtual, , $21-95

Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, Upper West Side

Join us for the 16th annual festival—another round of eye-opening films and in-depth conversations as we explore the relationship between history, culture, and identity in Israeli and Palestinian societies. For the full lineup and to purchase tickets, visit otherisrael.org/films.

Friday, November 4 | 20s & 30s First Friday Journey Central Synagogue

6:30 - 8:45 pm, $18

Central Synagogue, 652 Lexington Ave.

It's finally, solidly, chilly-ly fall. We're New Yorkers, though - and, like Abraham in this Shabbat's Torah portion, we still venture forth from our homes into the great unknown despite the bluster and the cold. As the seasons change and the leaves turn, journey forth to Central Synagogue for 20s & 30s FIRST FRIDAY Shabbat on November 4th. We're so excited to gather to celebrate the journeys big and small required to make it in the big city. We'll have (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) drinks, a delicious dinner, and davening (AKA prayer) - and we'll be sure to send you off ready to, in the wise words of a certain 80s band - take the midnight train going anywhere.
