In The Women’s Synagogue/In di vayber shul. When and where
In the Women’s Synagogue/In di vayber shul is a new piece of vocal music inspired by the legacy of Jewish women’s sacred practices. The history and influences of this music span a terrain of memory, fantasy, and history, drawing on sources ranging from Eastern European folklore, to Yiddish women popular music performers of the early 20th century, to the New York immigrant world of the composer’s grandmother, to the music of Jewlia Eisenberg, a pioneering Jewish composer who passed away in 2021.

Brooklyn Jews x Mitzvah or Shandah Shabbat
Starting with our regular happy hour schmooze and Kabbalat Shabbat services with the CBE quintet, at dinner we'll be joined by special guest Danielle Brody of Jews in Doodles. Danielle will lead an interactive activity during dinner based on her game, "Mitzvah or Shandah." We'll react to hilarious, morally ambiguous Jewish situations, deem them Mitzvah or Shandah, and come up with our own scenarios. You won't want to miss it. Dinner is for adults age 21+ and $36 per person.
